Frequently asked questions.

What would be the cost implications at different stages of the project?

The software developed by the CoronaSafe Network is free and open-source. Therefore there is no cost to use the codes of the software.

However, the software needs to be hosted on a cloud-based server. There are multiple parties providing the service like Amazon, Microsoft etc. The cost associated with it will vary as per the needs and scale of operation.

How many days will it take to make the war room operational? [End to end process]

It would take 3-5 days to operationalise the system in the district. However, it mainly depends on how well it is enforced upon the hospitals to be registered in the network.

How long will the training go on? At what levels and how will they be conducted?

CoronaSafe Network has created a detailed online certification course on using CARE. This same course may be utilised by users at all levels including state-level admins all the way to the data entry operators, doctors at the hospitals.

The course would take anyone around 2 hours to peruse through. The instructions are given in text as well as video format in English.

A quick reference guide is also created in the form of a youtube playlist to aid the users.

Can CS provide us with some of their staff (esp. tech) for the initial months?

CoronaSafe Network is supported by volunteers (developers) to build, enhance and maintain the software. These volunteers can support you in deploying the software and also guide you through the existing codebase. However, since CoornaSafe does not have any full time committed engineers, we may not be able to depute any staff for your support.

However, CoronaSafe Network is looking to raise batch 2 of a cadre of engineers skilled in building and enhancing the software. This program is called the CoronaSafe Engineering Fellowship. Any support/collaboration towards the initiative will be much appreciated. The students trained with your support may be utilised by yourself in maintaining and developing the software for your needs.

How will hospitals be able to update data on a real-time basis?

Each hospital in the district will be given a log-in. The hospital will be registered in CARE and the data must be added at each hospital to the portal. A video guide on entering data from the hospitals is available HERE.

Are the training sessions available in Hindi? If not, can translated videos or ones with subtitles be provided?

Training material is available in English. These may be easily converted/translated to the language of your choice.
